If you have LOCKED iPhone whatever it is iPhone 4S,4,3Gs on iOS 5, iOS 5.0.1, iOS 5.0.1 with any baseband including 04.11.08 and 4.12, you can now unlock your device with this method which is discovered by Loktar_Sun.
Unlock Any iPhone On Any Baseband Including 04.11.08 Using SAM
First you will need a jailbroken iPhone, also you need to download Latest version of iTunes and make sure connect to the internet.
NOTE: If you've hactivated your iPhone, you must first unhactivate it (just use SAM's "stockify" option when it notices you're hacktivated). and there are no need to the original SIM.
Step1: Open Cydia from your SpringBoard then add this Repo http://repo.bingner.com to your sources by going to Manage -> Sources -> Edit -> Add. then install SAM.
Step 2: Now launch SAM from the home screen or settings (You will need to have the SIM card you intend to use in your phone.)
Step 3: Go to Utilities in SAM and deactivate.Step 4: Make sure that SAM is enable choose "By Country and Carrier" in "Method"; then go back and find your carrier and your country, (In case your carrier operator has more than one SIM ID , choose the correct SIM ID otherwise this method won’t work properly.) | instead By Country and Carrier you can choose Auto Detect method.
Step 5: click at More Information", then copy IMSI in "SAM Details", After that, tap on Spoof Real SIM to SAM.
Step 6: Now simply go back to the main screen and change the Method to manual. Paste IMSI which you copy it.
Step 7: Step 9: Now connect the iPhone with iTunes then allow to iTunes active your iPhone. Double click on Phone Number to make it sure that the ICCID matches that of your SIM card. If doesn’t match, repeat the method from Step 1.
Step 8: Now Unplug your phone, and close iTunes. then Disable SAM. and Connect your phone to iTunes again, you should get an error say that your phone cannot be activated. This is normal. Just close iTunes and open it again.
Step 9:Yahooo, Now you will see the signal bars on your iPhone. congratulations :).

Just a update, you can select auto detect carrier, it will make simple for you, no need to copy anything.

The signal bars appeared before i even connected to itunes the second time. Note that the SIM ID's might have a long list, just try them one at a time. Anyways this worked better than I expected, thanks for the post!

I unlocked my iPhone with Sam and I thank you for that but now iTunes won't let me update my firmware and my apps won't download fully. They just load and then go to waiting. iTunes says my phone is corrupt while in DFU mode. Anyone have any problems with any of this?

It works fine. The part that it doesnt describe that worked for me...Start using your ATT Sim. After you spoof your ATT sim to Sam, swap ATT sim with other sim...Tmobile for ex. Dont respoof...follow instructions from there. Its gotta be spoofed to legit carrier to activate..at least for me.
