RedSn0w not been updated to support the jailbreak untethered for iPhone 4S and iPad 2, but for fixes problems with Jailbreak A4 devices such as the iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1 and iPod Touch, and most important of these reforms is to solve the problem of ramdisk, so if you experience any problem with Jailbreak 5.0.1 you can move to version RedSn0w 0.9.10b5c, and this is what stated by the Dev Team about this version:
Version b5b fixes an issue with using custom ramdisks on iPhone3G and iPod2G, and version b5c prevents redsn0w from crashing due to the ever-growing ramdisk size :).TIP: If auto-detection fails and redsn0w tells you no identifying data was found, you can always pre-select the appropriate 5.0.1 IPSW using “Extras->Select IPSW”.
It should be noted that if you have already succeeded in Jailbreak your device without any problems there is no need to re-jailbreak again, but if you started with the jailbreak you can download a version of the the links below and follow the the next:
Step 1: Open RedSn0w and select "Jailbreak" and then "Install Cydia".
Step 2: Follow the simple instructions that appear on the screen to enter in DFU.
Step 3: Now wait, and restart the computer and you will get the Cydia in the Springboard.
